카니예 웨스트(Kanye Omari West, 1977년 6월 8일~) 'The College Dropout'으로 2004년 데뷔, 현재 GOOD 뮤직이라는 힙합 레이블을 경영하고 있다. 앨범 마스코트로 곰을 자주 쓴다. 세살때 부모는 이혼을 했고, 시카고 대학에 입학했으나, 음악을 하기 위해 자퇴를 했다. 그 후 Jay-Z, 앨리샤 키스, 자넷 잭슨의 음반을 프로듀싱했다. 앨범에서 보컬을 샘플링하거나, 소울 음악들도 자주 이용한다. 2008년 MTV에서 ' Hottest MC In The Game'상을 받았다. 2009년 MTV 비디오 뮤직 어워드에서 테일러 스위프트가 Best Female Video부분에서 수상되자 무대 위로 난입해 이 상은 테일러 스위프트가 아닌 비욘세가 받아야 된다는 말을 하는 등 논란이 되는 행동도 많이 했지만 그 이후 My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), 제이지와의 콜라보레이션 앨범 Watch The Throne (2011),많은 아티스트들이 대거 참가한 Kanye West Presents Good Music Cruel Summer (2012)등이 잇다라 성공 하면서 21세기 힙합의 대세 다운 면모를 보여주고 있다. 2013년 6월 6집 앨범을 발매했다. ▣ 상세 설명 위키백과 => http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanye_West
