도어즈(The Doors) 미국 록 밴드. 공식 데뷔 1967년 1집 앨범 'The Doors'
멤버 짐 모리슨(Jim Morrison, 리드 보컬), 레이 만자렉(Ray Manzarek, 오르간, 키보드), 로비 크리거(Robby Krieger, 기타) 및 존 덴스모어(John Densmore, 드럼)로 1965년 부터 1970년대 초까지 활동. 대표 앨범은 동명 타이틀 앨범인 the doors 가 있으며 수록곡인 light my fire, the end가 대표곡. 도어즈 보컬이었던 짐 모리슨은 1971년 7월3일 약물과다로 인한 목욕도중 심장마비로 사망했고 1991년 그의 일대기를 다룬 도어즈 라는 미국영화가 만들어지기도 했다.

[introduce Album] 앨범 소개 (글: 음반사 배포 자료)
락 계의 반항아이자 무정부주의자 그리고 강렬한 카리스마의 소유자 Jim Morrison. 현존하는 락 그룹 중에서 DOORS 만큼 짧은 활동 속에서 사람들에게 숭배를 받고 오랫동안 사랑받고 있는 그룹을 찾기란 쉽지 않은 일이다. 그들은 1965년 LA에서 Jim Morrison을 주축으로 결성된 밴드이다. 당시 혼란 했던 미국 사회에는 영웅이 필요하였다. 젊은이들은 세상에 대한 자신들의 불만을 분출하기를 원했고 그러한 대리 분출을 해 주었던 DOORS 그리고 Jim Morrison은 영원히 팬들의 기억에 남을 락의 이단아가 되었다. 본 작은 DOORS가 1967년 발표한 데뷔 앨범이다. 이들의 데뷔앨범은 Paul A.Rothchild의 프로듀스로서 간단한 장비만을 가지고 단 2주만에 녹음을 마쳤다. 이들이 짧은 시간과 열악한 장비임에도 불구하고 완벽한 녹음을 할 수 있었던 이유는 라이브 무대에서의 많은 경험 덕분이었다. 본 작에는 아름답고 강렬한 환각 미학을 보여 주는 'The end', 그리고 Ray Manzarek의 오르간과 Morrison의 강렬하고 카리스마적인 보컬이 돋보이는 'Light my fire'등이 수록되어있다. 'Light my fire'는 싱글로 커트되어 챠트 정상에 3주간 머무르게 되는데 그것에 힘입어 본 앨범도 앨범 챠트에 2위에 랭크 되는 좋은 성적을 보인다.
