[Introduce Singer] 신인/보이그룹 One Direction
‘사이먼 코웰’을 아는 사람들이 꽤 될 것이다. 과거 아메리칸 아이돌 심사위원이었는데 지금은 엑스팩터라는 오디션 프로그램에서 심사위원을 맡고 있다. 아메리카 아이돌 시리즈가 슈퍼스타K라면 엑스팩터는 ‘위대한탄생’이라고 보면 된다.
One Direction(원디렉션)이 바로 2010년 엑스팩터 출신인데, 원래는 이들은 서로 다른 참가자였다. 이들을 한데 묶은 사람이 바로 사이먼 코웰이다. 역시 세계최고의 프로듀서가 만든 아이돌 그룹 답게 신인임에도 벌써부터 큰 인기를 얻고 있다.
2011년 9월 What Makes You Beautiful으로 공식 데뷔했다.
이 곡은 2012 Brit Awards에서 최고의 싱글상을 받았다.
