Mr. AZ 또는 Mr. Raz 등으로도 불린다.
1999년 1집 앨범 'A Jason Mraz Demostration'으로 공식 데뷔.
제이슨 므라즈는 싱글 "I'm Yours"가 대 히트를 하면서 전세계적으로 그 이름이 알려졌고, 빌로드 핫100 6위에 올랐다. 특히 이 노래는 장장 76주나 빌보드 핫 100 위에 머물렀는데 그 이전 기록은 LeAnn Rimes의 "How Do I Live"가 기록한 69주였다. (이상의 설명은 위키백과 참조)
