첫싱글 〈Spice Up Your Life〉은 엘튼존의 다이애나 왕세자비 추모곡 〈Candle In The Wind〉이 엄청난 인기를 끌자, 당초 예정된 날짜에서 발매가 한 주 미뤄지게 되었다. 그러나 스파이스 걸스는 그 엄청난 기세를 누르고 앨범과 싱글 모두 발매 첫주 1위를 기록했으며, 〈Too Much〉는 〈2 Become 1〉에 이은 스파이스 걸스의 두 번째 크리스마스 넘버원 곡으로 기록됐다. 하지만 아쉽게도 〈Stop〉은 UK챠트 2위를 기록하여 스파이스 걸스의 1위 행진을 멈추게 한 곡이다. 이를 안타까워 한 팬들이 2007년에 이 곡을 1위를 만들어 주려고 온라인 다운로드를 하는 등 노력하지만 싱글과 라디오 플레이가 뒷받침이 안된 터라 56위에 그치고 만다. 〈Viva Forever〉는 〈Never Give Up On The Good Time〉과 더블 싱글로 발매될 예정이였는데, 2집 활동 도중 게리 할리웰이 탈퇴를 발표해 게리의 파트가 담긴 〈Never Give Up On The Good Time〉의 발매가 불가능해지자 〈Viva Forever〉만 발매하였다. 또한 스파이스 걸스는 1998년 걸 그룹 역사상 연간 최고 수입을 달성하며 영국 (2천 9백만 파운드), 미국 (4천 9백만 달러)를 기록했다.

스파이스 걸스 (Spice Girls) 1994년 영국에서 결성된 여성 5인조 팝 그룹. 멤버 Geri Halliwell (게리 할리웰), Melanie B (멜라니 B), Melanie C (멜라니 C), Victoria Beckham (빅토리아 베컴), Emma Bunton (엠마 번튼). 1996년 발매된 데뷔 싱글 〈Wannabe〉로 전세계 31개국에서 1위를 기록, 1990년대 중후반 걸파워 신드롬을 일으키며 전세계적으로 7,500만 장이 넘는 음반 판매고를 올려 역사상 세계에서 가장 높은 판매고를 올린 걸 그룹으로 기록되었다. 〈Wannabe〉, 〈2 become1 〉, 〈Spice Up Your Life〉, 〈STOP〉 등의 히트곡이 있으며, 2001년 공식 해체하였다. 2007년 해체한지 6년만에 공식적인 재결합을 발표, 그 해 12월부터 북미와 유럽 투어를 하며 첫 베스트앨범 《Greatest Hits》를 발표하였다. 2012년 8월12일 제30회 런던 올림픽 폐막식 공연에서 오랜만에 모든 멤버들이 함께 공연을 했다.
