저니(Journey)는 닐 션이 주축이 되어 1974년에 4인조 라인업으로 결성되었다. 1979년에는 〈Just The Same Way〉와 〈Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'〉이 차트에 각각 오르며 인기 상승가도를 달렸다. 1980년에는 앨범 《Escape》를 발매하여 〈Who's Crying Now〉와 〈Don't Stop Belivin'〉이 각각 차트 상위권에 진입하는 인기를 기록했다. 1983년에는 세계적인 인기곡 〈Separate Ways〉와 〈After The Fall〉, 〈Send Her My Love〉 등이 큰 인기를 얻었다. 1986년에는 앨범 《Raised On Radio》를 발표하여 록 적인 노래 〈Be Good To Yourself〉와 〈Suzanne〉, 〈Happy To Give〉 등이 큰 인기를 얻었다.
