2001년 연간 전체 빌보드 핫 1위 곡 (Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 2001) 미국의 록 밴드 라이프하우스의 데뷔 앨범 1집 수록곡으로 첫번째 싱글이다. 리드 보컬 제이슨 웨이드 (Jason Wade)가 5분만에 작곡했다고 한다. 당시 큰 성공을 기대하지는 않았다고 하지만, 2001년 최고의 히트곡이 된다. 미국의 프로듀서 론 아넬로 (Ron Aneillo)가 프로듀싱하였으며 브랜든 오브라이언이 엔지니어링 및 믹싱을 담당하였다. 얼터너티브 록 장르로 포스트 그런지 장르로 볼 수 있다. 2000년 빌보드 차트 올해의 노래 (No.1 Song of the year)에 선정되었다.

평론가들 역시 호평을 한곡으로 빌보드핫에는 최고 2위를 기록했지만, 핫 100 차트에는 무려 55주나 머무른다. 수 많은 국가에서 상위권의 성적을 기록했다. 2001년에는 "호주음반산업협회" (Australian Recording industry Association : ARIA)에서 2x Platinum을 수상하였으며 미국에서 가장 라디오에 많이 방송된 곡으로 선정되기도 했다.

"8곡의 보컬 녹음을 막 마쳤을 때 였어요. 그 노래들을 작곡하기 전에 어떤 멜로디가 머릿 속을 스쳐갔죠. 그 멜로디는 내 친구가 쓴 것이거나 라디오에서 들었던 멜로디는 확실히 아니었죠. 전 바로 기타를 들고 대충 멜로디를 쳐보았는데 소름이 돋았어요. 거의 완성된 멜로디나 다름이 없었거든요. 5분 만에 곡 뿐만 아니라 가사까지 다 완성이 되었어요. 바로 그 다음 주에 그 곡을 녹음했고 첫번째 싱글이 됐죠. 참 재미있었어요. 왜냐하면 앨범에 수록된 다른 곡들이랑은 다른 빠른 비트와 적은 멜로디가 들어간 또 다른곡이 필요하다고 생각하고 있었던 참이었거든요." - 제이슨 웨이드
