전설의 포크 듀엣 사이먼 앤 가펑클 공식 데뷔앨범 1집 수록곡으로 1965년 12월 빌보드핫 1위를 기록했고 많은 국가에서 10위권을 기록했다. 50년이 지난 지금도 한국인이 좋아하는 팝송에 늘 상위권을 기록하는 1960년대를 대표하는 포크 명곡이다. 1967년 더스틴 호프만 주연의 영화 졸업(The Graduate) 사운드트랙으로도 쓰여졌다.
